Slam master
Amoja “The Mo-man” Sumler, host of the monthly Little Rock Poetry Slam since 2000, will be the featured poet at 8 p.m. Wednesday for the weekly Wednesday Night Poetry Readings at Central Loft Cafe, 514B Central Ave., Hot Springs.
Sumler is also the cofounder and current executive director of Poets in the Streets, a Little Rock-based nonprofit literacy organization.

Art majors’ art
The University of Central Arkansas’ spring 2012 BA/BFA Senior Exhibition, works by graduating UCA art majors (17 bachelor of arts, two bachelor of fine arts) in a variety of media, will be on display Thursday-april 21 in the Baum Gallery of Fine Art, Mccastlain Hall, UCA, 201 Donaghey Ave., Conway.
Receptions for the exhibition will be 5-7 p.m. Friday and 2-4 p.m. April 21 in the gallery.

Second-place chorus
Top of the Rock Chorus, the Little Rock chapter of Sweet Adelines International, took second place in the Region 25 Sweet Adelines International competition March 17 in Richardson, Texas.
Choruses in the region come from Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Louisiana and Arkansas. Judging in competition takes place in the categories of sound, music, showmanship and expression.
