• Youth Academy: AVAC United presents “No Limit” Basketball Training Academy from November 2023 to February 2024.

The academy will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday at Endeavour Middle School and Amargosa Middle School for girls and boys first grade through eighth grade. The cost is $75 per month or $250 for all four months paid in advance.

Training includes up to two sessions per week and eight sessions per month. Players will learn shooting, passing, dribbling, defense, rebounding, court vision, conditioni­ng, teamwork and have fun.

• High Desert Runners events: The Holiday Unity Run/Walk is a free fun run on Lancaster Blvd. prior to the Christmas Parade at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2. Meet in front of Lucky Luke’s on The BLVD.

Pickleball

Advanced players are welcome to join Team AV Pickleball. For more informatio­n call/text Dana Young at 661-209-0451. Team AV practices regularly in Palmdale and competes out of the area winning Gold, Silver and Bronze medals.
