Bobbie Lou Cannady, 77 of Albuquerqu­e, NM passed away on April 12th, 2021. Affectiona­tely called “Grammy” by her grandchild­ren, she was a cancer survivor of 25 years.

Bobbie was born in Portales, NM to parents, J.I.

“Ike” and Opal Bacon on September 15th, 1943. She was the youngest of three daughters and graduated from Portales High School and Eastern NM University. Bobbie’s career was an educationa­l instructor, working at Eastern NM University, as an elementary teacher at Albuquerqu­e Public Schools, and Albuquerqu­e Christian School.

Bobbie was a devoted Christian. She taught Sunday school and supported her husband as Deacon at Montgomery Church of Christ. She was an active member of Netherwood Park Church of Christ. Her passion was sewing, embroidery, and playing bridge with family and friends. Nearly everything she wore was hand sewn, her daughter-in-laws were both wed in hand sewn wedding dresses.

Bobbie is survived by her husband of 54 years Robert. Her legacy lives on in the form of two sons, Devin and his wife Crickett and sons Reese, Chase & Tanner; and Randal and his wife Kim, and their daughters Kaylee & Riley. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, most importantl­y with her 5 Grandchild­ren. Bobbie was preceded in death by parents J.I. and Opal Bacon, sister Cleo Nell Michell, and sister Bonnie Brown.

Memorial Services will be held at Netherwood Park church of Christ on Saturday, April 24th, 2021, at 11:00 am. Bobbie will be laid to rest at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in a private ceremony.
