Corrine Sisneros

-

Our mother, Corrine C. Sisneros left us on Monday, November 12, 2018, and wouldn’t you know dad decided to pick her up on Veteran’s Day.

She was born in Gallup, NM on September 23rd, 1929, the youngest of four. She was also greeted by her mother, Sofia, father, Avellino, sister Dahlia and brother, Abe. She was an amazing mother to seven children. Her home was always open and the go to place for all. It was always filled with neighbors, friends, family and kids. Her entire life was dedicated to her family and always loved to feed those who came to visit. Many great conversations and cups of coffee were shared at her kitchen table. The holidays were always very special at the Sisneros household. Mom always enjoyed hosting for the major holidays and it was a tradition in our family. Although it was in her younger years, she was known to throw one heck of a Halloween party or two!

She will always be adored for her strength, hard work, honesty, wisdom and dedication to her loved ones. She took great joy in raising her children (along with her children’s friends and the neighbor kids) and she also played a very important role in raising all seven of her grandchildren as well.

We are forever grateful for the love, creativity and life lessons she shared. It was hard having seven children and people would ask how do you keep the house clean? Well, she created a "game" for us kids and we helped her. She made growing up fun and our childhood was filled with those type of "games," music, dancing and fishing – she loved to fish and she was good at it!

She is survived by her sister Arlene, her seven children: David and wife Linda, Nancy Padilla and husband, Larry, Richard and wife, Jan, Roberta Carl and husband, Rodney, Cyndi Vetter, Chris and wife, Tina and Carolyn Harmon and husband, Kevin.

She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Jennifer and boyfriend, Adrian, Lesley Escobar, Kim and wife, Melissa, Kevin and girlfriend, Glenda, Audrey McCoy, Jesse Sloan, Matt and partner, Will, Jacob Paul and one great grandson, Andrew along with many nieces and nephews.

Mom we thank you for your strength and creativity. The times we shared will be cherished forever! We would like to give a very special and genuine thank you to our sister Roberta for opening her home to mom. She was mom’s caretaker for the last years of her life and was with her until the end. Another special thank you to Sofia, who assisted Roberta with mom’s care and Gretchen who was a very special nurse, that has become family. We are forever grateful to you ladies for your patience, assistance and love you provided to mom and the rest of the family.

You are among the angels now mom – rest in peace! She will be laid to rest at a later date with her husband, Henry at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the caring professionals at the Noblin Funeral Service Los Lunas Chapel, 2211-D Main St., (505) 866-9992, where an online guest register is available at www.noblin.com.
