Montoya, Walter Reynolds

Walter R. Montoya, 82, long time resident of Albuquerque, NM passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Walter was born July 1, 1934 in Bernalillo, NM to Geronimo and Lucia Montoya. He was the eldest of five children. Walter was employed by St. Vincent Academy for many years and retired as a painter with APS in 2000.

Walter was preceded in death by his loving parents, beloved son David Montoya, and dear brother Rudy Montoya.

His legacy will carry on through his sons Richard Montoya, Mark Montoya (Dianne) and Paul Montoya; cherished daughter Dianne Montoya Brown and their loving mother Erlinda Montoya; adored grandchildren Angelicque Chavez (Salvador), Richard Montoya (Suzette), Adam Carter and Paula Montoya; treasured great-grandchildren Jarred Chavez, Savaughna Chavez, Elijah Montoya and Shaylene Porter; dearest siblings Lorraine Miera (Clyde), Cecelia Archibeque (Ignacio) & John Montoya (Inez).

Walter was a dedicated family man with a golden heart and hard working hands. His greatest accomplishment was his beloved family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 am on Friday, January 20, 2017 at St. Therese of the Infant Jesus Church, 3424 Fourth St. NW, with a rosary to immediately follow. Cremation has taken place.
