Huerena, Alex (Cano) Jr.

1939-2016 Alex (Cano) Huerena Jr., age 77, a resident of Bosque Farms, New Mexico passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. Alex enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Some of his favorite things to do were going to the casino to see his friends. He enjoyed his morning coffee and cookies, playing the guitar, and talking about the classic cars he used to own. He served in the Navy and enjoyed talking about his time in the service. Alex will always be in our hearts and greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alejandro and Ciprianita Huerena.

Alex is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Claudia; and his sons, Tim (Tammy) and Andrew (Lora); daughter, Yvonne; grandsons, Timothy Huerena (Sabrina Baca) and Andrew J. Huerena; brother, Lupe Huerena; sisters, Gloria Valdivia, Juliana and Theresa Huerena; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

Services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, Peralta, NM on Monday, August 29 beginning with a visitation at 10:00 am, followed by the Rosary at 10:30 am. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am. A reception to follow at the parish hall. Interment will be at a later date. Pallbearers will be Tim Huerena, Andrew Huerena, Timothy Huerena, Andrew J. Huerena, Lupe Huerena and Jesse Huerena. Honorary pallbearer is Sixto Valdivia.
