Tampa Bay continues its home dominance

St. Louis gets past Nashville in OT

TAMPA, Fla. — Cedric Paquette had three goals as the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Detroit Red Wings 5-1 on Thursday night for its franchise-record ninth consecutiv­e home win.

Steven Stamkos and Mark Barberio also scored for the Lightning, which leapfrogge­d Detroit into first place in the Atlantic Division by a point. Jonathan Drouin and Alex Killorn had two assists apiece.

Darren Helm scored for Detroit, which had won six in a row. BLUES 5, PREDATORS (SO): St. Louis, Kevin Shattenkir­k scored the winner in the shootout to lift St. Louis to a victory over Nashville.

Jaden Schwartz, T.J. Oshie, Steve Ott and Ryan Reaves all scored in regulation for the Blues, who improved to 8-01 over their last nine games. Brian Elliott made 33 saves for St. Louis.

Mike Fisher scored twice and added an assist for Nashville.

STARS 6, SENATORS 3: In Ottawa, Jamie Benn scored two goals as the Stars beat the Senators in Jason Spezza’s first game in Ottawa since he was traded to Dallas in the offseason.

Spezza made his NHL debut with Ottawa in 2002 and had spent his entire career with the Senators before the trade.

BRUINS 5, ISLANDERS 2: In Uniondale, N.Y., Boston’s Kevan Miller scored the go-ahead goal late in the second period, and Tuukka Rask stopped 43 shots.

Reil ly Smith, Patrice Bergeron, Torey Krug and Zdeno Chara also scored for Boston, which won for the seventh time in 10 games.

CANADIENS 1, RANGERS 0: In New York, Max Pacioretty scored with 4:17 left, sending Montreal to the road win.

Pacioretty converted a wrist shot from above the right circle that appeared to surprise Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist. It squeezed inside the right post for Pacioretty’s 22nd goal.

PANTHERS 3, BLUE JACKETS 2: In Sunrise, Fla., Sean Bergenheim scored late in the third period as Florida snapped a five-game losing streak.

Aaron Ekblad and Jonathan Huberdeau also scored for the Panthers, and Roberto Luongo made 30 saves.

COYOTES 3, MAPLE LEAFS 1: In Toronto, Martin Hanzal scored the go-ahead goal and Mike Smith stopped 24 of 25 shots as Arizona beat Toronto.

Phil Kessel scored Toronto’s goal that came in the first period. Toronto fell to 0-7-1 in its past eight games.

SHARKS 6, DUCKS 3: In San Jose, Calif., Patrick Marleau, Barclay Goodrow and James Sheppard each had a goal and an assist as San Jose used a big second period to beat Anaheim.

San Jose scored five times in the second and extended its home winning streak against Anaheim to seven.

WILD 1, FLAMES 0: In Calgary, Alberta, Zach Parise scored in the first period and Devan Dubnyk stopped 30 shots, leading Minnesota past Calgary.

It was Parise’s sixth goal in his last six games and No. 20 on the season. Thomas Vanek assisted on the only score 8:59 into the game.

FLYERS 5, JETS 2: In Philadelph­ia, Wayne Simmonds, Chris VandeVelde, Nick Schultz and Brayden Schenn scored, leading Philadelph­ia to a win over Winnipeg.

OILERS 3, SABRES 2: In Edmonton, Alberta, Anton Lander’s first goal of the season was the game winner and he added two assists as Edmonton beat Buffalo.
