Tanglewood announces 1st October-june slate of events
Schedule includes music-food combos, concerts, talks
Tanglewood has announced its inaugural slate of fall, winter and spring programming, releasing a series of events and activities to be held at its new year-round Linde Center for Music and Learning.
Included in the lineup are concerts, talks, “TASTE” events linking music and food, “Open Forum” multidisciplinary programs, collaborations with the Martha Graham Dance Company and two immersion weekends — one focused on historic artists’ homes in the Berkshires, the other a series of fiddle workshops for amateur musicians.
Listed below is October to June programming for the Tanglewood Learning Institute, which opened this summer inside the Linde Center at the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra in Lenox, Mass. (The Center will also host events and concerts as a rental space.)
Additional activities include film screenings presented in conjunction with the Berkshire International Film Festival; assorted 10 a.m. Saturday art classes in the fall and spring; and “Art Night Out” drop-in Fridays at 7 p.m. Dec. 13, Feb. 7 and April 13.

Kickoff Weekend
■ Oct. 24-27: Includes film screen, artworkshops, panel and 3 p.m. Sunday chamber concert by BSO associate principal clarinetist Thomas Martin; BSO violist Michael Z ar et sky; and pianist Randall Hodgkinson.
immersion Weekends
■ March 13-15, 2020: “Fiddle Weekend,” featuring workshops in Canadian, Scottish and Irish styles led by fiddlers Laurel Martin, Katie Mcnally and the BSO’S Bonnie Bewick.
■ May 15-17: “Creative Placemaking at Historic Artists’ Homes and Studios,” presented in collaboration with Chester wood, the Stockbridge summer home of sculptor Daniel Chester.

■Oct .30:“Appalachian Spring ,” focused on t he iconic collaboration between Graham and Aaron Cop land.
■March 11:“Night Journey ,” focused on her 1947 ballet set to the music of William Schuman.
■ April 29: “Lamentation Variations,” focused on a piece conceived in 2007 to mark the anniversary of Sept .11.

■ Friday, Nov. 15: “Spotlight on Argentina,” featuring bandoneon player JP Jofre, dinner, concert and free afternoon tango class.
■ Friday, Feb. 21: “The Culture of Russia,” featuring conductor and pianist I gnat Solzhenitsyn, dinner and presentation of music and poetry featured in the writings of Solzhenitsyn’ s father, Alexander.
■ Thursday, May 28: “Around the World,” featuring performances by members of the Massachusetts Cultural Council’s Folk Arts and Heritage program.
