Three arrivals as Everton get busy on final day
EVERTON completed the signing of Brazil winger Bernard and then added Barcelona pair Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes on transfer deadline day.
The Merseyside club announced shortly before the 5pm deadline that Bernard had signed a four-year deal at Goodison Park after moving from Shakhtar Donestsk on a free transfer.
This was swiftly followed by communication from Barcelona that agreements had been reached for defender Mina and midfielder Gomes.
Colombia centre-back Mina will cost almost £30m while Portugal international Gomes moved on a season-long loan for a fee of around £2m.
Chelsea brought in Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic on loan after signing Kepa Arrizabalaga from Atletico Madrid on a seven-year deal for £72.1m, a world-record transfer fee for a goalkeeper, late on Wednesday.
Thibaut Courtois completed his move to Real Madrid, Croatia midfielder Mateo Kovacic going in the opposite direction on a season-long loan.
Leicester signed 21-year-old Croatia defender Filip Benkovic from Dinamo Zagreb on a fiveyear deal for an undisclosed fee.
Wolves announced the signing of Belgium defender Leander Dendoncker from Anderlecht, initially on a season-long loan, becoming permanent next summer.
West Ham signed forward Lucas Perez from Arsenal on a three-year deal and Carlos Sanchez joined from Fiorentina.
Midfielder Victor Camarasa signed for Cardiff on a seasonlong loan from Real Betis.
Manchester City signed Daniel Arzani from their partner club Melbourne City, with the 19-yearold Australia international poised to be sent out on loan.
Brighton brought in defender Dan Burn from Wigan and then immediately loaned him back to the Latics for the first half of the season.
Southampton made a late bid to sign Liverpool striker Danny Ings with a deal sheet submitted to the Premier League, giving Saints an extra couple of hours to get a loan move finalised with an obligation to buy.
Manager Jose Mourinho’s hopes of reinforcing the Manchester United squad further on the final day of activity were extinguished as the transfer deadline came and went without any new arrivals. United had already signed Brazil international Fred, full-back Diogo Dalot and third-choice goalkeeper Lee Grant.
