Changes to waste collections

WASTE collections in Wokingham Borough will be adjusted over Christmas and New Year.

Residents are urged to check the revised collection schedule on the council’s website, before putting out their waste during this time.

All rubbish and recycling collections, including garden waste, from December 25, 2023, until January 12, 2024 will change to the revised schedule, as crews will be taking the day off on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Crews will be working on three Saturdays (December 30, January 6 and January 13), and having an earlier start at 5.30am.

Residents are advised to put out their waste the night before to avoid being missed.

The revised schedule is as follows (Usual collection day / Revised collection day)

From December 25 until December 29.

■ Friday December 29 / Tuesday January 2

From January 1 until January 5

■ Monday January 1 / Wednesday January 3

■ Tuesday January 2 / Thursday January 4

■ Wednesday January 3 / Friday January 5

■ Thursday January 4 / Saturday January 6

■ Friday January 5 / Monday January 8

From January 8 until January 12

■ Monday January 8 / Tuesday January 9

■ Tuesday January 9 / Wednesday January 10

■ Wednesday January 10 / Thursday January 11

■ Thursday January 11 / Friday January 12

■ Friday January 12 / Saturday January 13 Normal collections resume from Monday, January 15, 2024.
