Help recognise borough’s amazing women
NOMINATIONS are now being taken to recognise women in Wokingham who have done something amazing for their community.
The Sue Ryder Southern Women of Achievement Awards was officially launched on Thursday, September 7, and is celebrates women from across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire who have achieved amazing success and stand out as role models in their local areas.
There are seven award categories: Woman of Achievement in Business; Woman of Achievement in the Community; Woman of Achievement in Education; Woman of Achievement in Sports; Woman of Achievement in Services; Young Woman of Achievement and the Sue Ryder Courage Award. The awards are sponsored by Invesco Perpetual, CH&Co and Higgs Group.
As well as recognising those women who have made such a difference, the awards are one of the charity’s biggest fundraising events helping the charity to continue to provide the services they offer across the region.
The glittering award ceremony will be held at Reading Town
Hall on Friday, February 16, and readers are encouraged to get their nominations in now.
