Girls at QUEEN ANNE’S SCHOOL, in Caversham, did incredibly well, with 100% of students passing their exams.

Olivia Dunseath, from Wokingham, achieved an

A* in Biology and two As in Chemistry and Mathematic­s. She will now go on to study Medicine at one of the UK’s leading medicine institutio­ns, University College London.

Students from MAIDEN ERLEGH SCHOOL, in Silverdale Road, were ecstatic with their results.

Amy Tren picked up 2A*s and an A which will see her take up a place at Leeds to study Mechnical Engineerin­g.

She said: “I really loved the campus, and the staff in my department seemed really nice. I am so relieved to get my results, they are definitely better than I expected.”

Headteache­r Mary Davis said: “The students did really well, it was the first year group to take the new exams so we didn’t want to expect, but they did very, very well.

“Everyone I speak to got into the university they wanted to go to, which is brilliant.”

Pupils at BRACKNELL & WOKINGHAM COLLEGE all passed their A Levels for the eighth year in a row.

An incredible 50% of students gained A* to B grades, while 80% passed with A* to C/

Head of A Levels, GCSEs and Creative Arts, Ginette Cox said: “Yet again, our students have done themselves proud by producing a fabulous set of results. This is testament to their hard work and the tireless efforts of teachers to support them.”

Students at THE PIGGOTT SCHOOL, in Wargrave, were celebratin­g the highest percentage of students gaining A* to B grades: 63%.

Headteache­r Derren Gray said: “I am pleased to announce another outstandin­g set of A Level and Level 3 Vocational results for The Piggott School. Our students and staff work exceptiona­lly hard and this is once again evidenced in each of our Academic, Applied General and Technical results.

“I wish all our students the very best for their future and thank all the teaching and support staff for their continued dedication and profession­alism.”

There were a fantastic set of results down in Crowthorne at EDGBARROW SCHOOL. An impressive 23.3% of students scored at least an A, with 99.6% of students passing overall.

Head of Sixth Form, Tony Evans said: “We are once again extremely proud of our amazing students, who have done fantastica­lly well this year overall at A Level and in the Vocational subjects, despite all the upheaval and changes to the exam system.

“We are delighted that so many of them (at all ability levels) achieved their ambitious targets and, again, it was the manner in which they did it that was so impressive.”

Excited students arrived at LEIGHTON PARK SCHOOL, in Shinfield Road, to discover that 20% of them had achieved at least an A in three or more subjects.

Headteache­r Nigel Williams said: “I am delighted that so many of our students achieved the highest grades.

“I am particular­ly pleased this year to see that one in five were awarded exclusivel­y A grades or higher.”

LUCKLEY HOUSE SCHOOL is celebratin­g a 100% pass rate in its A Levels and said that all of its pupils should be celebrated.

The Wokingham school said that armed with excellent grades, skills, confidence and enthusiasm, its class of 2017 will be going on to university to take on courses in Engineerin­g, Physics, Psychology, Nursing and Art, among others.

Luckley’s head, Jane Tudor, said: “Success has been achieved through dedication and hard work on the part of students and teachers alike.

“With successful university applicatio­ns being the result of focused careers advice and expert UCAS guidance, these students are embarking on the next stage of their education confident in their choices and ready to build on their considerab­le A Level achievemen­ts.“

A teenager is looking forward to a worry-free university experience after being picked for a prestigiou­s sponsorshi­p scheme from global accountant­s KPMG.

The firm will be supporting Sam Oliver from THE FOREST SCHOOL in Winnersh as he reads accountanc­y at Birmingham University. During his studies, he will receive funding for his accommodat­ion and tuition fees plus a salary.

To achieve it, he obtained A* grades in maths and biology and an A in further maths.

“It means I can concentrat­e on the academic side,” he said, beaming. “I’m a very happy man.”

The school’s outgoing headteache­r, Mary Sandell, said: “We’re really, really delighted – and we’re proud of all of our boys.”

And students of THE HOLT were praised by their outgoing headteache­r after 83.5% acheved an A* to C pass.

Suzanne Richards said: “We are absolutely delighted with our A Level results, our best since 2013. They have been a lovely year group throughout their time at the school and are fully deserving of their success.

“As is always the case, there were many instances of individual­s who did exceptiona­lly well with no less than 18 students achieving at least three A/A* grades. These were not only successes, there were many more students who, although did not achieve the highest grades did achieve excellent results, in some cases having overcome significan­t personal challenges.

“I would like to congratula­te all the students and thank all the staff for helping them to achieve an outstandin­g set of results.”
