SCARED OF THE DARK Sunday-thursday, 9pm, C4 Reality

Expect plenty of screams, jumps and frights as eight petrified celebrities survive 180 hours in total darkness for a new scary-movie-style reality show.

Hosted by Danny Dyer, the five-parter runs from Sunday to Thursday this week and sees presenter Scarlett Moffatt join England football legend Paul Gascoigne, AKA Gazza, Love Island star Chloe Burrows, The Wanted’s Max George,

The Sandman actor Donna Preston, blind comedian Chris Mccausland and boxing icons Chris Eubank and Nicola Adams live together for eight days in a pitch-black world. But there are also some extra twists, turns and hairraising challenges along the way!

What’s on

Gazza struggles to find the toilet!

‘When I told my family I was doing this show, they said, “You can’t, you’re scared of the dark!”’ says Gazza. ‘It’s a challenge, but I want to prove to myself and to others that I have the mental strength to do this.’

Meanwhile, the celebs also have no idea that Scarlett is living among them in secret, kitted out with infrared goggles and an earpiece. Her challenge is to stay completely unnoticed. But as they’re pushed to breaking point, who’ll be the first celebrity to shout, ‘I’m scared of the dark,’ and leave the bunker?

‘It’s going to be so tough,’ says Scarlett. ‘I’ve signed up for some pretty crazy things but this is definitely the craziest!’
