GLOBE-TRAVELLER OFFERS A SECOND VW CRAFTER MODEL
Luxury Polish campervan converter, Globe-Traveller, has launched a second model based on the VW Crafter.
Hot on the heels of the arrival of the six-metre Falcon 2XS
(see page 31 for a full review), Globe-Traveller has now unveiled a long-wheelbase VW Crafter-based model, the Falcon 2Z, and both models will make their debut at the NEC this October in right-hand drive form.
The layout of the 2Z is similar to that in the Voyager Z, which was named Campervan of the Year 2023. Similarly, it comes with an extra-high roof, which allows a double floor to be installed to maximise the possibilities of winter camping and, again, it has fixed single beds at the rear.
However, it has a few tweaks to take into account the slightly narrower width and extra length of the Crafter. Instead of a forwardfacing double travel seat in the lounge, there is a small armchair, which has a drawer underneath for storage. As with the Voyager Z, there is a table, which stores in the floor when not needed.
The launch model is also gas-free (with induction cooking) and has a taller garage adapted to carry bikes.
The washroom features an illuminated, mirrored locker door above the basin, which drops down to create extra space for showering. The toilet is a composting one, made by Trelino.
Globe-Traveller only entered the UK market last year but now has five dealers at six locations across the UK.
As befits Globe-Traveller’s premium positioning in the campervan market, the new Falcon 2Z has a high spec, including 177bhp engine, diesel-powered Truma Combi heating and hot water, a 220Ah lithium battery with Büttner charger, 160W solar panel, 90-litre compressor fridge, Fiamma awning, 85-litre fresh and waste water tanks, and numerous VW options. The new model is priced from £125,995.
