Tributes to man who died in bridge fall

-

POLICE have confirmed that a man who fell from a footbridge over the A484 in Llanelli last week has died.

The man, named locally as Ryan Bowen, fell from the Coedcae Road footbridge onto the roadway at around 7pm on Thursday.

He was taken to Morriston Hospital in a critical condition but died on Sunday.

“Dyfed-Powys Police can confirm that sadly the male died in hospital yesterday,” a spokeswoman for the force said yesterday.

“Our thoughts are with the family at this sad time.”

A GoFundMe page has been set up to support Mr Bowen’s family, which has already raised around £4,000.

Friend Steffan Lewis, who made a donation, wrote: “I love you Bows, to be a part of your life was truly a pleasure.

“So many great memories – I’m going to miss you.

“You were taken far too early but now I am glad that you are out of pain and are safe.

“It’s difficult to accept that you’re gone. But even when I do get to that point you will remain forever in my heart and I cannot wait to see you next! I love you Bows.

“Also, to Bows’ family, I am very sorry for your loss, I send my deepest condolences in this dark deep time. Keep strong.”

Llanelli town councillor Michael Cranham, of Coedcae Road, said: “The thoughts of those in the area were with Mr Bowen’s family, and of course they will have the town’s full support as they deal with their terrible loss. Terribly sad news.”
