NEW DAWN FOR DOCTOR WHO

- Doctor Who

NCUTI Gatwa and Millie Gibson’s first season of Doctor Who has finally arrived! Here’s what we know about the Fifteenth Doctor and his new companion, Ruby Sunday.

First look

The duo made their debut on Christmas Day in a special episode called

The Church on Ruby Road. We discovered in this episode that Ruby was abandoned as a baby on Christmas Eve and adopted by Carla Sunday. She wanted to find out what happened to her parents and in the process met the

Doctor. Together, they tackled some evil goblins and their king!

New adventures

The Doctor and Ruby are set to travel in the famous

TARDIS through time and space to the Regency era in England, to outer space worlds and the sixties – look out for The Beatles! Along the way they’ll face lots of new monsters, including one of the Doctor’s most powerful enemies ever!

This character’s name has yet to be revealed, but it’s being played by award-winning actor, singer and two-time RuPaul’s Drag Race winner, Jinkx Monsoon.

Exciting characters

There are lots of new and returning characters including the Duchess, Mel

Bush, Roger ap Gwilliam, Kate LethbridgeStewart,

Rose Noble and the mysterious

Mrs Flood. Young star Lenny Rush will play

Morris, while Jonathan Groff is playing a new lead role, which is still under wraps!

Second series

It’s already been confirmed that Ncuti will return as the Doctor for a second season. Next time he’ll be joined by not one but two companions, as Varada

Sethu joins the cast. The series is set to hit screens in 2025.

Catch on 11 May on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
