Scott fires in a topper

-

A Scott McDonald strike 10 minutes from time ensured Dundee United remained the only Championship team with a perfect record from three games and kept them top of the league as they defeated Brechin City 1-0 at Tannadice.

The result left the visitors searching for their first win of the season after their surprise promotion to the second tier. However, they find themselves level on points with Inverness Caledonian Thistle, who were demoted from the top flight.

Thistle grabbed their first point of the season on Saturday with a 1-1 draw at home to Greenock Morton.

Gary Warren gave the hosts a first-half lead before Robert Thomson got the equaliser six minutes after the re-start for Jim Duffy’s men.

Collin Seedorf saw red in injury-time for ICT.

Dunfermline made it back-to-back wins with a 3-1 victory against Falkirk at East End Park.

Declan McManus and Joe Cardle gave the Pars a two-goal lead after just 11 minutes before Craig Sibbald and Lee Miller both were sent off for the away side.

Despite that, they got back into the game through Tom Taiwo seven minutes from time before Cardle got his second in injury time.

Former Livi defender Callum Fordyce scored the only goal of the game as Queen of the South grabbed a 1-0 home win against Dumbarton.
