BOWLING CHAMPS

The Taylor Wimpey Triples Tournament was held at Winchburgh Bowling Club.

And the 2017 titles were won by Craig Gourlay of Winchburgh Bowling Club and his team William Irvine and Ryan Miller both of Buchan Park Bowling Club.

The team picks up the trophy for this year and share a prize fund of £450 between them.

Taylor Wimpey East Scotland announced its support for the new local invitational bowls competition last year and it attracted 24 teams of three players from across the local area. The 2017 competition was even more popular with another 24 teams competing to be Winchburgh Bowling Club’s Taylor Wimpey Triples champions.

Brian Clarkson, Winchburgh Bowling Club match secretary added:“It was a really competitive and brilliant competition with some extreme rain showers to dodge so many of the players were tested to their limits. I’d like to thank the team at Taylor Wimpey East Scotland for their sponsorship and I’d also like to thank our members for their support.

“Winchburgh Bowling Club is going from strength to strength as we welcome new members and see old members returning, and we’re very grateful to have worked together again this year with Taylor Wimpey East Scotland.”
