Edinburgh Monarchs captain Sam Masters is now a full asset of the club.

The news was announced by the team at their video highlights night last week.

The Aussie ace is certainly no new face to the Monarchs faithful as he is set to enter his fourth season with the club.

The fact that he is now an official Edinburgh asset will negate any potential fixture clashes due to Sam’s busy schedule.

The Monarchs are rearing to go in the revamped Championship which gets underway next month, with their first league fixture o April 7, but they are still without a team sponsor.

With just three weeks to go before the start of the new campaign, club chairman Alex Harkess said:“We’ve exhausted all avenues in our search for a team sponsor. The trail is completely cold at the moment so we desperately require some kind of lead to pursue.

“Time is now short before the start of the season and we would like to proudly carry the name of a sponsor on our race jackets throughout 2017.”

The club are also selling tickets for their opening night“2017 Launch Live” at the Cairn Hotel in Bathgate on March 23.
