The Shadow Factory at Nuffield Southampto­n Theatres City (023-8067 1771). Howard Brenton’s “ambitious and absorbing” Second World War drama, about Southampto­n’s response to the bombing of its Spitfire factory in 1940, returns to City (Times). With Catherine Cusack. Ends 2 March.

The Son at Kiln Theatre, London NW6 (0207328 1000). The heralded French playwright Florian Zeller ( The Father and The Mother) strikes again with this drama about a teenager dealing with his parents’ divorce. Ends 6 April.

John Ruskin: The Power of Seeing

at Two Temple Place, London WC2 (twotemplep­lace.org). A “unique” exhibition marking the 200th anniversar­y of the birth of the critic, geologist and reformer (FT). Ends 22 April. A version of the show is at the Millennium Gallery, Sheffield, from 29 May-15 September (museums-sheffield.org.uk).
