Transform your garden into a child-friendly adventure zone

Whatever the weather, you can have plenty of fun in the garden this summer

-

Sure, gardens look pretty, offer outdoor living space and are a popular place to entertain – but if you are a young child, a garden is an adventure zone just waiting to be explored! With that in mind, we pass on some ideas for family fun.

After all, the garden is for everyone to enjoy. As well as keeping the kids occupied during the summer, a fun garden can also provide a great opportunity for you all to spend some quality time together. There are a number of ways you can do that, here are a few:

Future-proof fun

You might not be able to guarantee what the weather does this summer, but you can promise your kids will have fun by installing a play area or play equipment. From sandpits and swings to playhouses and climbing frames, there are lots of options – some companies even offer the chance to build bespoke play areas. Creating an area dedicated to fun, games and play is sure to go down well with the youngest members of your family – and their friends! Whatever your budget, go for quality options, look after them well and they should last for years to come.

Grow your own

You don’t need lots of space to create a fun “grow our own” garden. Some vegetables and fruits, like strawberries, tomatoes and even potatoes, can easily be grown in pots. Alternatively, you could buy or create a planter dedicated to bee-attracting wildflowers! Whatever you go for, it’s a great way to add some colour to the garden and learn a few valuable skills. Keep it small and manageable, so it’s fun for kids and adults of all ages to get involved with, and enjoy watching it all grow over the summer.

Fun for the whole family

And last but not least, why not treat yourself too? If you’re looking to enjoy the garden with your friends and family, make it a place to party with things like outdoor bars, artificial grass putting greens and hot tubs. All three are ideas that will help to keep everyone entertained this summer, and during summers to come.
