Cove stay top as they cruise to win over QP

Edinburgh City, who had to sub keeper Callum Antell due to illness early on, took the lead through a disputed Craig Thomson spot-kick, given for an Andy Mcdonald foul on Scott Shepherd.

Shepherd then saw his deflected strike spin in to give Edinburgh a 2-0 lead.

Elgin stormed back with Shane Sutherland netting a solo effort on 55 minutes, then Kane Hester rolling in an equaliser seven minutes later after Beveridge had miskicked a clearance.

Sutherland also had a shot deflected in on 73 minutes to put Elgin ahead, only for Thomson to level after another penalty – again disputed – given against home stopper Mcdonald.

Cowden were level four minutes later when the ball fell to Archie Thomas to shoot home from 18 yards.

The hosts led when Kris Renton was bundled in the box and Fraser Mullen blasted home the resultant penalty.

Mccord saw a header cleared off the line late on as Cowden held on to win.

Stenny came out strongly after the turn and David Hopkirk saw his shot saved in 54 minutes and, a minute later, Andy Munro struck the bar with a long-range shot.
