The Wicker Man

- The Woman In Black Senna Catch Me If You Can

ITV4, 9pm

It’s over 40 years since this cult thriller was released at cinemas. Edward Woodward is the police sergeant sent to a remote Scottish isle to search for a missing girl. He finds a community steeped in paganism who are as one in denying the girl’s existence. This, coupled with the sergeant’s Christian background, fuels his suspicions – and growing unease – as the investigation continues. Christopher Lee and Britt Ekland also star.

Film4, 9pm

From Hogwarts to Hammer. Daniel Radcliffe’s first film after the conclusion of his work on the Harry Potter saga was also the first film made on British soil by the famous horror studio for 35 years. Radcliffe is impressive, if a little young, in the lead role, but after scaring the living daylights out of you for the first hour the film gradually descends into a check-list of haunted house clichés.

ITV, 10.35pm

The brilliance of this Bafta-winning documentary is that you don’t have to be a fan of Formula One, or sport in general, to feel touched by it by the time it reaches the finish line. Intertwining some never-before-seen footage with contemporary interviews with those who knew him, it’s an intimate portrait of Brazilian racing driver Ayrton Senna, whose life was cut tragically short in 1994 by a fatal accident during a race.

BBC2, 6.30pm (BBC2 Scotland, 8.30pm)

The talents of Steven Spielberg, Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks combined to bring us the incredible true story of conman Frank Abagnale Jr. Following the divorce of his parents, 16-year-old Frank runs away to New York.
