#HUGHPYM

The BBC health correspondent was verbally abused for asking a person on the Tube why they weren’t wearing a mask during the Covid crisis.

@joshua23 wrote: “Hugh Pym has no right to question any person on what they are wearing. That is their personal business. Harassing another member of the public could be seen as abusive, particularly in the absence of any knowledge as to that person’s history or background.”

@iain_w5 replied: “Hugh Pym didn't know ‘that persons history or background’ so he asked the person in order to find out. Talking to another person is hardly a crime. You've seen Mr Pym – he's not even a Paxman, let alone an indy radio shock-jock thug.”

@andykeetch said: “If you are defending that person's right to not wear a mask you have to also defend the other person's right to ask a question.”

@nikkimc11 tweeted: “Fair game, not wearing a mask is a health risk, potentially a fatal one, to others.”

@carlabella1 wrote: “I love Hugh Pym and I am sorry to see so many idiots being cruel and unkind to him when all he did was question a person not wearing a mask on the Tube!”

@ewasr said: “oh man i saw Hugh Pym was trending and i was wondering if there was some Ant-man news, but no.”

#TOMCRUISE

The star was reported to have sworn at Mission Impossible 7 crew members on a UK set after he saw them breaking Covid-19 guidelines.

@greenlovingirl wrote: “Thank you #Tomcruise! This is how I want to yell at every single moron that doesn’t take this virus seriously. Thank you for caring about the economic survival of the average worker."

@heyitsgaming tweeted: “Good I wish more people had balls to tell all the freaking losers to follow the rules. If we had, we wouldn’t be stuck where we are now. Oh, but I forgot, the mask takes away freedom.”

@Theblondepi added: “He’s right. Thousands of jobs are at stake, and not just actors: transportation, makeup, costumes, script supervisors, assistants, secretaries, on and on. I’m sick of people not wearing masks and not taking precautions and then being surprised when someone gets Covid.”
