Battery expert to advise board of Edinburgh-based Dukosi

Dukosi, an Edinburgh-based specialist in battery management systems for electric vehicles and energy storage, has appointed a Us-based industry veteran as an advisor.

John Warner has more than 28 years’ experience in the automotive and battery industries, having held sen- ior executive roles at companies including General Motors, Enerdel, XALT Energy, Magna Steyr Battery Systems and Boston-power. He is also president of the global battery industry trade group, NAATBATT Internatio­nal.

The appointmen­t comes as Dukosi moves into advanced trials of its battery management system to selected target customers in the lithium ion battery market, which is predicted to grow to around $93 billion (£72bn) by 2025.

Warner, who will be an advisor to the company’s board, said: “Dukosi’s solution introduces the next generation of battery management for complex batteries, and I saw joining the Dukosi team as a great opportunit­y to help drive its adoption in the market.

“I am excited to be support- ing such an innovative technology in this extraordin­ary growth phase of the battery market.”

Dukosi chief executive Nat Edington said: “We’re excited and privileged to welcome such a respected and experience­d battery industry expert to the Dukosi team.”
