BUCKINGHAM PALACE
The Queen arrived at Cardiff Central Railway Station and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of South Glamorgan (Dr. Peter Beck), the Rt Hon Carwyn Jones AM (First Minister of Wales) and the Lord Mayor of the City of Cardiff (Councillor David Walker).
The Queen, colonel-in-chief, the Royal Welsh, drove to Millennium Stadium and was received by the colonel of the regiment (Brigadier Philip Napier) and the president
of Welsh Rugby Union (Mr Dennis Gethin). Her Majesty was received on parade with a Royal Salute and inspected the regiment.
After the Colours were consecrated, the Queen presented the new Colours to the Royal Welsh.
Her Majesty was graciously pleased to address the regiment and the colonel of the regiment replied.
The parade marched past the Queen.
Later the Queen attended a reception for soldiers and their families and subsequently was entertained to luncheon by the regiment.
CLARENCE HOUSE
The Prince of Wales, president, British Asian Trust, held a meeting. His Royal Highness, president, Royal Drawing School, afterwards held a meeting.
The Prince of Wales attended a reception to mark the 175th anniversary of the Royal Warrant Holders’ Association at St James’s Palace.
His Royal Highness, president, the Prince’s Trust and Prince’s Trust International, held a meeting.
The Prince of Wales received the Grand Imam of al Azhar.
The Archbishop of Canterbury and the Bishop of Coventry were present.
His Royal Highness, president, gave a dinner for the Royal Drawing School at Buckingham Palace.
The Duchess of Cornwall, patron, Jamie’s Farm, visited Oasis Farm Waterloo, Carlisle Street, London SE1, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of Greater London (Mr Kenneth Olisa).
Her Royal Highness, joint president, the Elephant Family, afterwards unveiled “Tara”, a model elephant, to launch Elephant Story-time, Duke of York Square, London SW3
The Duchess of Cornwall attended the Household Division Ceremony of Beating Retreat on Horse Guards Parade, London SW1.
KENSINGTON PALACE
The Duke of Cambridge attended a reception to mark the 25th anniversary of Jewish Care at Alexandra Palace, London N22, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of Greater London (Mr Kenneth Olisa). Prince Henry of Wales attended the Camp Bastion Memorial Dedication Service at the National Memorial Arboretum, Croxall Road, Alrewas, Staffordshire.
