POLITICS

Do you trust what Dominic Cummings said in BBC interview?

He isn’t really saying anything that isn’t already out there. Seems like he’s trying to distance himself from them.

Julie Mulhall-Stead Trust, no, but believe, absolutely, as it’s completely in line with an extreme volume of evidence we already have.

Kate H-c Sadly I trust him more than his employers at the time, he will have a mountain of evidence and clearly not afraid to use it.

Andrew Lister Wouldn’t trust him as far as I could throw him, or the rest of them for that matter.

Julie Hodgson If he told me it was sunny today I wouldn’t believe him...

Duncan Morris I didn’t believe anything he said previously. I totally believe everything he has said over the last two or three weeks.

Michael Tomlinson Yes. More truth than we’ve heard for a long time unfortunately.

Anne Gotzhein I don’t trust what any politician says. Anyone who does is hopelessly naive.

Jonathan Crawley The words government and trust can never be used in the same sentence!

Ellie Gavaghan Would have thought more about him if he had come out and said it at the time, now it just seems like sour grapes.

SUPERMARKETS

Morrisons to trial cashless store with no workers

Going to Sainsbury’s then.

Josephine Mary Smith A cashless society is not the future. Having no staff on shift is also just plain daft.

Steve Badland Urm no! Why would you want to take jobs from people?

Helene Marchant

Walmart in America have just launched shops with no till staff. Unfortunately, where they lead, we follow.

Margot Thompson Ever since the first self-scan appeared you could see this was their long-term plan.

Peter Crawshaw I never even use the selfservice tills as I like to keep someone in a job. I would just stop shopping in Morrisons.

Ann Platts I go to my local Morrisons because of the friendly staff on the tills, we are human, this is a step too far.

Julie Taylor So, if the store has no workers how do the goods get on the shelves?

Rick Morrell Anyone seen Years and Years on BBC? Scarily accurate predictions and totally plausible scenarios including this.

Ruth Hancock Where are all the people going to work when all shops do this?

Paul Spencer

ROYAL MAIL

Royal Mail are said to be considering scrapping Saturday letter deliveries and signed-for parcel services, in a major company shake up.

I have to say that the postmen/women have been fantastic during the pandemic. Can’t say quite as much for the delivery office.

Helen Wood So what service are we paying for? And they wonder why they can’t compete with other services.

Richard Dell Not good if you work Monday to Friday. When are you suppose to get your parcels? I usually make Saturdays my re-delivery day.

Fiona Rowlands No point buying 1st class stamps anymore.

Scott Lee

With the amount they charge for sending parcels it needs to be 24 hours a day delivery never mind dropping days.
