St Laurence’s

On Sunday the 8am service of Holy Communion (BCP) will be led by the Rev Lynn Hellmuth who will also lead the 10.30am service of Holy Communion. These are the last services that Lynn will lead at St Laurence’s, following the sad announcement of her early retirement owing to ill-health.

On the morning of Sunday, January 19, the Bishop of Hull will lead a confirmation service at St Laurence’s. Please contact the church office on 01723 364858 if you are interested in being confirmed, baptised or would like to renew your baptism vows.

At 2pm on Sunday, December 8, at St Mary’s Church, Cloughton, there will be a Blue Christmas service for anyone experiencing a difficult time.

Anyone who would like to find out more about supporting refugees in Scarborough is welcome at a meeting on Tuesday, December 10, 7pm, at the Quaker Meeting House, Woodlands Drive (near Scarborough Hospital).

The Old Scarborians carol service will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 7.30pm, at St Laurence’s. The service will be conducted by Bishop David Wilbourne with Mike Lester playing the organ and piano.

At 8.30pm we will adjourn to the church rooms for mulled wine and warm mince pies. All welcome.

There is an A Cappella concert on Monday, December 9, 7pm, at St Peter’s Church, Hackness. Refreshments afterwards and entry is free, any donations for church funds.

On Friday, December 13, 7pm, at St Margaret’s Church, Harwood Dale, there is a concert with Tina Roberts and friends. Entry £5 on the door to include seasonal refreshments.
