PACESETTERS Wimbledon overcame an 11-point deficit against Havant
– only a place below them at the start of the day – to claim a crucial 22-16 win at Beverley Meads.
Joel Knight’s two penalties, plus Ben Chambers’ smart finish, had Havant on the front foot for well over 30 minutes in south London, but the game swung right on the interval as Wimbledon were awarded a penalty try.
Knight’s try had Havant believing once again, but the Dons showed their class to prevail – Sam Gratton, Max Lufkin and Matt Grobler, in the final minute, giving them a bonus-point win.

Camberley failed to capitalise on Havant’s loss, falling to a 20-17 defeat at
Bournemouth.
It was a classic game of two halves at Chapel Gate, with the home side building up a 17-5 lead at half-time, which would prove to be enough – just.
Alan Manning and Ryan Morrell scored Bournemouth’s tries, with Dom Sammut, Nick Barry and Vic Hardwicke replying.
Grant Hancox’s kicking was pivotal for Bournemouth, with his two conversions and two penalties seeing his side over the line.

Maidenhead and
Brighton produced an end-to-end affair, the hosts just about coming out on top – 42-33 – after a breathless 80 minutes.
Scott Prince scored twice, with Will Macaulay, Kyle Beattie, Alex Turton and Niall Crosley all on target.
London Welsh thrashed Banbury at Old Deer Park, Tom Hunt scoring a sublime hat-trick in their 51-15 win.
He was joined on the scoresheet by Sam Johnson, Rhys Howells, Ben Davies and Sion Cowdy, with ex-Northampton Saints prop Soane Tonga’uiha grabbing a consolation for the visitors.
Oxford Harlequins cantered to a 67-20 victory over Sutton and Epsom.
Tom Varndell and Ben Jenkins both scored twice, with Josh Archer, Josaiah Ratulaveta, Tom Walton, Harry Burn and Jon Hughes also notching at Oxford Road. George Drye and a penalty try got Sutton on the scoreboard, with defeat plunging them to the bottom of the table.
Royal Wootton Bassett handsomely beat
Bracknell 47-29 at Ballards Ash Sports Ground to haul themselves up two places to ninth.
