McCann: Wright no longer welcome at Dens

-

Dundee manager Neil McCann has told St Johnstone counterpart Tommy Wright he is “not welcome” in his Dens Park office.

The two are set to meet today for the first time since a touchline bust-up in March which resulted in McCann receiving a one-match ban and Saints substitute Zander Clark suspended for two games.

Wright said on Thursday he had not spoken to the Dundee boss since and McCann has no intention of burying the hatchet.

When asked if he would speak to his opposite number, McCann said: “Absolutely not. I have no intention to speak to him at all. He is not welcome in my room, either. I have read his comments, so no.

time, so better off not talking to him.”

McCann will serve his ban against Saints after successfully halving it via an appeal earlier this week, but Wright claimed his side has come out on the right side of the incident after Clark admitted his part, which appeared to show McCann raising a hand towards the goalkeeper.

However, McCann disagreed and said: “I’m not going to get into it here, it’s not Jeremy Kyle, but I read his comments and he said Zander did nothing and the evidence would show that. Well Zander got two games and I got one.”

Murray Davidson will miss Saints’ trip to face Tayside. The midfielder, who has been booked 13 times in the league this season, will serve a two-match suspension but Clark has completed his ban and will return to the squad.

Wright has a number of injuries, with Denny Johnstone (knee) and Blair Alston (ankle) out for the season and Chris Kane (hamstring) and Brian Easton (hernia) also sidelined.
