Barratt Homes to support The Prince’s Trust
Barratt Homes staff are on a fundraising mission as part of The Prince’s Trust’s national competition, Million Makers.
Some 20 graduates from across BarrattHomes Scotland will sell work by Aberdeenbased photographer Stewart Mitchell through the firm’s marketing suites in a bid to raise funds for charity.
Mr Mitchell, of Earthly Light Photography, is well known for his landscape photography, capturing scenic Scottish landmarks.
A selection of his work is currently on display and available to purchase from various Barratt Homes sites, with 100% of the net profit going to The Prince’s Trust.
Million Makers challenges teams of employees and university students to come together and raise £1million for The Prince’s Trust and make a real difference to the lives of disadvantaged young people across the UK.
Scott McMinn, a graduate working in Barratt Homes’ commercial department, said: “We had to pitch our business plan to a Dragons’ Den-style panel in order to secure an initial investment from The Prince’s Trust so it was a great test of our entrepreneurial skills.
“We are now competing against teams from across the UK to run the most profitable mini enterprise, which is great fun.
“The Prince’s Trust is active in Aberdeen city and shire and our aim is to raise at least £10,000 for the charity.
“The money raised will go towards helping disadvantaged young people to turn their lives around by developing the skills and confidence needed to move into a job, education, training or even self-employment.
“Stewart’s images are proving extremely popular with both visitors to our show homes and staff, so we are confident of reaching this target.
“The Prince’s Trust is a fantastic cause and we are delighted to be working alongside them. ”
Mr Mitchell said: “I was delighted to team up with Barratt Homes in aid of such a worthy cause. I hope that my photography inspires people to get out and about and enjoy the spectacular scenery in and around Aberdeen city and shire.”
His photographs are available to order in a range of options from Barratt Homes’ Evolution, Mill Brae and Osprey Heights developments across the city and shire.
