This year Tierney Morton-McLeod is the director in Inverness Musical Theatre’s Made in Dagenham based on the acclaimed 2010 film which dramatises the inspiring events of the 1968 sewing machinists’ strike at the Ford factory in Dagenham, Essex. Worst fashion faux pas?

When I was six, I had this bright-coloured knitted poncho I insisted on wearing with a long denim skirt.

Favourite holiday destinatio­n?

My grandparen­ts’ home in the south of Spain near a vineyard. At night, you can have a full 360 view of the solar system from the top of the mountain.

Idea of holiday hell?

A fitness holiday with no alcohol and early mornings.

Biggest fear?

Thunder and lightning.

What you’re watching on TV?

I’ve just finished One Day and The Artful Dodger.

Favourite movie?

Dirty Dancing or Peter Pan with Jeremy Sumpter.

How do you relax?

Watching a good Disney movie with my kids.

Best advice you’ve had?

One of my high school drama teachers Lesley Eadie taught me that whenever you get stuck with something in life – sit on the toilet. You do your most free, unapologet­ic thinking there in private.

Who you last spoke to on the phone?

My mammy.

First thing you did this morning?

Made the bed.

Worst mistake?

Not taking opportunit­ies when I was younger thinking I was not good enough.

Your inspiratio­n?

My mum.

Would most like to meet?

Robert Carlyle.

Childhood crush?

Jeremy Sumpter from Peter Pan.

Weirdest fan gift?

I’ve not been given any - but I am partial to a bit of baking bribery in auditions.

Quirky habits?

I have a bit of an odd nervous laugh that can pop out before I can put it back in my mouth.

Worst meal?

Anything with mushrooms.

What makes you laugh?

My partner Scott has a talent for making me laugh in any situation with just a look.

Most embarrassi­ng moment?

In a film audition when I was younger, my interestin­g fact about me was telling the panel about my dead hamster.
