Newest cruise line to sail from the Tay

Britain’s newest cruise line has announced six new departures from Scotland.

Ambassador Cruise Line will be sailing between April and June 2023 to destinatio­ns such as Spain, France, Norway, Iceland as well as the Scottish islands.

The no-fly sailings from Dundee, available to book now, will be on board Ambassador’s new ship, Ambition.

Ambassador CEO, Christian Verhounig, said: “We are delighted with the warm reception given to the introducti­on of Ambassador to the UK cruising market.

“This announceme­nt of six new sailings reflects our confidence to invest in the future of Ambassador and the cruise sector. Guests boarding in Dundee will sail to exciting destinatio­ns, matched to an enticing array of activities, exceptiona­l cuisine, and amazing entertainm­ent on board.”

Ambition will carry up to 1,200 guests in her 714 cabins, 125 of which have balconies and 113 are suites. She has two main restaurant­s, Buckingham and Holyrood, two speciality dining options and a more casual style Borough Market buffet, four bars and lounges.

These will be complement­ed by a tiered main theatre, a casino, card room, library, and craft studio.

Guests will also be able to enjoy the Green Sea Spa, gymnasium, two swimming pools and a range of shops, all designed to create a friendly atmosphere on board.

The first 2023 sailing will see Ambition depart on Sunday April 30 next year, on a sailing around the British Isles, with notable ports of call at Portree on Skye, Tobermory on Mull, Belfast and Galway in the Republic of Ireland.
