T-Rex back from extinction to hunt mud runners

-

Runners will have to dodge dinosaurs during a charity obstacle course later this year.

Organisers of the Glack Attack, an annual 5K mud run held to raise cash for Friends of Anchory, have added a Jurassic twist to this year’s challenge.

A 6ft T-Rex will chase participants around the “Jurassic zone” as they tackle challenges, including the “not so hot tub” and the “wringer”.

The fundraiser, now in its sixth year, takes place on Glack Hill, near Dunecht, on October 5.

Event organiser Stephen Ratcliffe said: “Each year we like to introduce some new obstacles to drive the event forward and keep it fresh for contestants who come from the north-east and beyond to take part.

“We hope this year’s Jurassic zone will do just that, helping to create some exciting and memorable moments across the 5k course.”

The Glack Attack was set up in 2013, and two years later Friends of Anchor became its official affiliated charity.

Since then, it has raised more than £61,000 to help cancer and haematology patients.

The course is suitable for anyone over the age of eight.

A shorter course for youngsters aged three to seven will also take place.
