The biggest guns have started with a bang
Free-scoring Moulton Harrox are the early pacesetters in the Peterborough Premier Divisionafterrattlingupthree quick victories.
Harrox bashed top-flight newboys Long Sutton 5-1 on Tuesday night after despatching ICA Sports 4-1 at Ringwood on Saturday. They had already won 3-2 at Tydd on ground hopper weekend.
Ian Bradbury and Joe Towsend have scored in all three Harrox matches so far. Marcus Parry scored twice at ICA who replied through Dillan Chipunza.
Whittlesey Athletic, who finished a place behind Harrox in third last season, have also started well with hardfought away wins at Langtoft United and Warboys Town.
Harrox are at Ketton on Saturday when Whittlesey travel to Sutton Bridge United.
Champions Netherton United opened up with a 3-1 home win over Oakham United which featured two goals from Robbie Ellis and another for newcomer Aaron Warrener.
Netherton were back in action against Peterborough Sports Development last night (Wednesday) and they visit Long Sutton on Saturday.
There’s a first round tie in the Peterborough Senior Cup (formerly the PFA Cup) on Saturday when Oakham host Thorney.
Thorney opened their Premier Division campaign with a 1-0 win at Holbeach United Reserves. George Edwards scored the goal.
Newly-promoted Eye United have started life in Division One in style with easy wins against Wittering Harriers and FC Peterborough. Luke Gasson, Dan Gargan and Sam Duffy scored in both matches.
