Online booking for Oban Pride

-

Following months of partnership working the Oban Pride committee have finalised their plans for the 2021 event which will take place on Saturday September 25, writes Fiona Scott.

Tickets to the colourful array of family friendly free events can now be booked online.

Phill Dexter, Oban Pride chair, told us: ‘Although we are not having a March we still have so much to look forward too. We have partnered with some amazing organisations throughout Oban to bring you an amazing event, which is spread throughout the town.’

Oban Phoenix Cinema will host the ever popular Rainbow Stage with live performances from noon-2pm and 3-5pm. As well as giving a rare performance herself, Oban’s very own Crystal will be introducing a range of artists, including Conway-McLean Music, Sadie Godiva, Ellie Cooper and Rock and Reel.

The Rainbow Stage is free to attend, but tickets must be booked in advance via www. obanpride.com.

The cinema will be open from 11am-5.30pm so there will be plenty of time to go in before the performance starts and have a chat with representatives from Equality Network and Waverley Care.

Oban Youth Café will be hosting a Youth Zone from 11am-4pm where High School aged people can enjoy a special Pride Day drop in with crafts, games, gaming and more.

Argyll Wellbeing Hub (Breadalbane Street) will be open for a special Pride Day Rainbow Tea. They will be open from 11am-2pm and be ready to welcome visitors with some good banter, a cuppa and maybe even a bit of cake.

The Happy Wee Health Club will be running our Family Zone based at Go Banana’s above the Bridge Café. There will be two sessions at 10amnoon and 1-3pm. The Family Zone is free but booking is essential due to limited numbers. Parents/guardians must be present.

‘As you can see we have lots on for Oban Pride on September 25,’ added Phill.

‘We would love to see businesses and organisations getting involved too and one way they can do this by decorating their windows to take place in our window competition. Bid4Oban have donated a prize for the winning display.

‘We are always looking for volunteers to help out and anyone interested or any business looking to get involved should email ObanPride@gmail. com.’

Oban Pride ask that all Covid guidelines are followed within the venues and anyone who has had contact with someone who tested positive or is presenting symptoms does not attend.

Tickets for all the free events are now bookable on the website www.obanpride.com.
