Hotel shortlisted for top tourism award
The Pierhouse Hotel and Seafood Restaurant at Port Appin has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Best Restaurant Experience category at this year’s Highlands and Islands Tourism Awards.
The annual awards recognise and reward the best places to stay, eat, drink and enjoy the area’s sporting, historic and cultural events, as well as its nature and scenery.
The overall winners will be announced at an awards ceremony and dinner at the Drumossie Hotel in Inverness on Friday November 1. Through a partnership with the Scottish Thistle Awards, the winner from each category will also automatically be put forward as a regional finalist in the National Scottish Thistle Awards scheme.
Tucked away on the shores of Loch Linnhe, with breathtaking views to the islands of Lismore and Mull, The Pierhouse Hotel and its renowned restaurant is one of Argyll’s most idyllic and romantic destinations.
Earlier this year, The Pierhouse was purchased by hotelier Gordon Campbell Gray, as part of The Wee Hotel Company, which also includes The Three Chimneys at Colbost on the Isle of Skye.
Fiona McLean, general manager at The Pierhouse Hotel and Seafood Restaurant, said: ‘We’re extremely proud to have been selected as a finalist in the Best Restaurant Experience category at this year’s Highlands and Islands Tourism Awards. This wouldn’t have been possible without the continued dedication, enthusiasm and passion of our restaurant team and local suppliers.
‘As part of The Wee Hotel Company, The Pierhouse has quickly established itself as Argyll’s seafood heaven. Not only do we offer a unique and high-quality food and drink experience overlooking Loch Linnhe, but we also showcase and promote local produce on our menus, giving our guests a real sense of place.
‘Food and drink is an integral part of our philosophy and experience at The Pierhouse.’
