The club will be auctioning a framed England shirt, signed by England hat-trick hero Sir Geoff Hurst, and they are raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support and The Bobby Moore Fund (Cancer Research).

The big match takes place at 3pm next Sunday, July 24, at the Euronics Ground , Marsh Lane, Barton-uponHumber. Admission will be £2 for adults and free for children.

The Swans’ club in the community officer Owen Taylor said:“I hope we all can recapture the spirit of 1966 and come down and support what should be an afternoon of great fun. For many fans this is the closest we may get to see a ‘World Cup Final’!

“As the song says,‘It’s coming home, it’s coming home, football’s coming home’. Well, it’s coming to Barton at least. Hopefully history repeats itself and ‘England’ win the trophy!” EUROPEAN giants PSV Eindhoven will return to Corby next week as the Dutch team look to defend the Steel Park Cup.

The Eredivisie side won last year’s inaugural tournament and will be joined by Leeds United, Newcastle United and hosts Corby Town.

Each team will play two matches over July 23 and 24, with the championsh­ip being played in a league format.

Corby managerTom­myWright said:“We are looking forward to hosting the tournament, which will offer our supporters the chance to see some top sides at Steel Park before the start of the new season, it will also provide a very competitiv­e level of preparatio­n for all the teams involved.”
