DARREN FERGUSON, who lost his mother yesterday, was thankful to his Peterborou­gh players and fans following an emotional triumph. David Ajiboye and Joel Randall scored the goals, and assistant boss Kieran Scarff said: ‘The gaffer is delighted.’

COLBY BISHOP’S second-half double saw leaders Portsmouth extend their unbeaten run to 23 games. And manager John Mousinho singled out his two-goal hero for praise. He said: ‘Colby’s allround play is excellent and he can sniff out opportunit­ies, which is exactly what he did for the first goal.’

STEVE EVANS’ Stevenage held on to earn the points against Wigan. The manager said: ‘Did we deserve to win the game? Yes.’ Aaron Pressley scored the game’s only goal, while Callum Lang was sent off for Wigan before Alex MacDonald also saw red for Stevenage.
