No snow on the slopes? No problem, say Salma and Natalie – we’ll go bungee trampolining instead

HOW do you enjoy an Alpine skiing holiday if you don’t have any snow?

That wasn’t a problem for Hollywood stars Salma Hayek and Natalie Portman, who made sure their plans for a winter getaway remained elastic… and took to the skies on a bungee trampoline instead.

The A-listers made a surprise double act in the exclusive Swiss resort of Gstaad – left bereft of snow after an unusually warm winter – using the springy cords to gain extra height as they bounced athletically into the air.

Both women have had recent roles as superheroes in the Marvel franchise – Hayek, 56, as Ajak in Eternals and Portman, 41, as the Mighty Thor – which may have inspired their daredevil antics.

An onlooker told The Mail on Sunday: ‘Salma jumped bravely on the trampoline, doing somersaults, and was very amused by the entertainment. Natalie was much more discreet and cautious but did offer some smiles to the audience.’

Hayek has spent the festive period with husband Francois-Henri Pinault, their daughter Valentina, 15, and his three adult children. Last week. Hayek posted an image of them on a ski-lift, surrounded by green hills and captioned: ‘Looking for snow.’

A lack of skiing does have one benefit for Pinault, chief executive of luxury fashion empire Kering, as frustrated skiers have more time to browse the boutiques of Gstaad’s main promenade – offering items from his Gucci, Saint Laurent and Balenciaga brands.

Portman’s husband is also French – the choreographer Benjamin Millepied, whom she met on the set of Black Swan. They have two children together, Aleph, 12, and Amalia, five.
