Police appeal for help in hunt for Libby, 21
POLICE were last night continuing their search for 21-year-old student Libby Squire, who has not been seen since Thursday.
Officers carried out door-to-door inquiries and friends appealed for information on social media in a bid to bring her home safely.
Libby, who studies at the University of Hull, was reported missing after getting into a taxi outside the city’s Welly club at about 11pm on Thursday.
She was then spotted at around 11.45pm by a motorist who is said to have got out of his car to help her near the junction of Beverley Road and Beresford Avenue.
Humberside Police have now urged residents living in the area in which she disappeared to look in their sheds and outbuildings in case the student decided to take shelter from the recent wintry weather.
Superintendent Simon Gawthorpe said: ‘We’re asking residents living in Beverley Road, Cottingham Road and around the university area to check their gardens, outbuildings and sheds.
‘We would particularly like residents around Haworth Street to get in touch.’
Supt Gawthorpe added: ‘A large amount of my officers are searching for Libby and we want you to help us find her too. Thank you to members of the public, students, staff and security at the university for assisting us in our search so far.’
Libby is described as 5ft 7in tall, with shoulder-length brown hair.
She was last seen wearing a black long-sleeved top, a leather jacket and a black denim skirt.
