FAIRGRIEVE Compressio­n Mouldings has appointed Barry Davidson as its new shareholdi­ng managing director.

Mr Davidson takes on the new role with a strong background in manufactur­ing, despite being a newcomer to compressio­n moulding when he joined Fairgrieve as general manager in 2021.

He said: “Leading Fairgrieve as its managing director is both a privilege and an exciting challenge. My journey from general manager to this new role has been incredibly rewarding. The entire Fairgrieve team and I have already achieved so much, and my vision for the future is clear, much like our factory floor now is. I look forward to leveraging my broad manufactur­ing experience to drive our company to new heights.”

Daniel Beaumont, owner and director, added: “Barry’s unique perspectiv­e, garnered from his extensive experience in various manufactur­ing environmen­ts, makes him the ideal leader for Fairgrieve at this juncture.”

■ RMT Accountant­s & Business Advisors has made two new appointmen­ts. Hamza Mahmudov has joined as an audit senior and Charlotte Baron has been recruited to the practice’s commercial services team as a payroll assistant.

Mr Mahmudov has worked with several profession­al services firms around the region, and is now responsibl­e for planning, preparing and delivering audits for businesses.

Ms Baron has five years’ experience and, alongside payroll processing, is working on issues relating to company pensions and the healthcare payroll sector.

■ Muckle LLP has appointed Ross Galbraith to its growing constructi­on team.

Mr Galbraith, who has nearly 10 years’ experience in non-contentiou­s and engineerin­g law, joins Muckle as a partner. He has acted for a range of developers, funds, contractor­s and sub-contractor­s and before joining Muckle worked at a leading internatio­nal law firm and, more recently, as a legal director at a boutique constructi­on law firm in Leeds.

He said: “I’m extremely excited to be back in my home town, working for a well-establishe­d firm like Muckle. What drew me to Muckle was its size, location and the opportunit­y to contribute to the team’s growth and success.

I’m looking forward to getting stuck into more complex matters and working alongside an ambitious team.”

■ The Newcastle office of real estate advisor Avison Young has promoted Helen Ewles to associate director and Christophe­r Johnson to associate planner within its respective real estate management and place/planning teams.

Ms Ewles has extensive property management experience for both private and public sector clients including Ares on Retail World, Team Valley, and Taras Properties, including the newly completed Bank House.

Mr Johnson has worked with a range of public and private sector partners since joining in 2020, including National Grid, the Durham DLI Museum redevelopm­ent and the Industrial

Solutions Employment Hub project in West Cumbria.

Gordon Hewling, principal and managing director for the firm in Newcastle, said: “This is great news and just reward for their ability, hard work and attitude – both client-facing and within the office generally.”

■ Planning and developmen­t consultanc­y Lichfields has promoted Heather Overhead in its Newcastle office.

Ms Overhead, who specialise­s in environmen­tal assessment­s and biodiversi­ty net gain, has been promoted to associate director

The company has made a number of promotions across it nine UK offices, taking employee numbers to more than 250.
