WESTERN PREMIER DIVISION GUIDE
7th
4th Andi McElnea Sikander Raza Butt (Zim), Heynrych Nel (SA) Ayr under-performed last season but a talented crop of youngsters are a year older and better and they should be galvanised by the two overseas arrivals Majid Haq None
They lost out on the final day last season but the Titwood troops are geared up to go one better. The loss of Saltires star Safyaan Sharif should be more than offset by the presence of Richie Berrington and Con de Lange. Muhammad Ramzan None
Will do well to match last season’s efforts especially since Jarod Armitage and Imran Adrees have left. A big onus will fall on Ramzan, Graeme McLaren and the talented Scotland U19 World Cup player Abdul Sabri. Stuart Corbett-Byers None
Champions two seasons ago, the Nunholm side welcome back Stuart Corbett-Byers following a self-imposed period of “retirement” while the continued development of pace prospect Niall Alexander bodes well.
Promoted Josh Johnston Peter Bocock (NZ)
Survival is usually the goal for promoted sides but the Torrance House outfit have loftier ambitions particularly with Moneeb Iqbal on board. May cause a few surprises.
8th Sai Majeed Ahmed Said (Pak), Amjad Jawad (Pak) Majeed has several match-winners at his disposal, and not just the overseas duo. Zia-ul-Haq returns after a season on the sidelines while Mohammed Afzaal and Imran Adrees are shrewd signings. Bryan Clarke Matt McEwan (New Zealand)
Given full availability, the Bothwell men will be a match for anyone but that luxury is likely to be denied them because of the county commitments of Calum MacLeod, Gavin Main and Andrew Umeed. John Blain None
They have one of the best seam attacks in the country in Blain, Gavin Smith and Dave McNulty but West may struggle for runs particularly with Dougie Lockhart having hung up his pads.
