DUGGAN SOUNDS WARNING TO CITY CHASERS

- By Joshua Peck

MANCHESTER CITY made it two out of two with victory over Arsenal last Monday – and Toni Duggan has told the rest of WSL1 to be aware.

They followed up their opening win over Notts County with a comfortable 2-0 victory against Arsenal, with Jane Ross and Duggan netting. The Gunners had Jemma Rose sent off early on.

The win put City top of the table, though Chelsea and Liverpool have a game in hand. And, with the Manchester club sitting pretty, Duggan has fired a warning shot.

She said:“I’m buzzing. That’s two great wins on the bounce for us now, and it’s a great way to top off our Easter weekend.

“For any spectator, for our coaches, for their coaches, for everyone in the league, they know we’re dominating these games.

“It was the same last week.We played Notts County and I think we had 18 corners. We need to start putting those chances away, though. It’s only a matter of time before they all start going in.”

In WSL2,it’s Durham who lead the way as the only team with a 100 per cent record in the division. The Wildcats beat

London Bees 2-0 in their first home match of the season, having won 1-0 at Sheffield last week.

Millwall Lionesses and Everton are both in the chasing pack on four points, having played out a 2-2 draw, while

Aston Villa picked up their first win of the season by beating bottom-of-the-table

Oxford United 2-1.
