Twins target future in criminology

-

Kaitlyn and Kelsey Jackson ‘motivated and encouraged each other’.

Twins have graduated from the same course on the same day.

Kelsey and Kaitlyn Jackson began their higher education journey at Dundee and Angus College, studying social sciences and childcare practice respectively.

However, Kaitlyn made the move to join Kelsey’s course and was joined by classmate and friend, 23-year-old Jamie Lee from Poole, who they later discovered was a distant cousin on their father’s side.

The trio then decided to apply to Abertay University’s criminology course together.

Kelsey said: “I’ve been asked if having my twin and my cousin in class has been challenging, but it’s been a blessing in disguise.

“The support system we’ve built has been incredible. We’ve motivated and encouraged each other to reach our full potential, and I couldn’t have asked for a better dynamic.”

During their time at university, the twins found classmates would confuse the pair and would ask if they remembered discussing a topic earlier, only to realise it was their twin sibling who had already discussed it.

After graduation, Kelsey, Kaitlyn and Jamie Lee plan to travel to Australia and Asia on a working visa.
