MCPAKE’S DELIGHT AT SIGNING HAMILTON
Dunfermline have announced the signing of midfielder Chris Hamilton.
The 20-year-old boyhood Pars fan becomes James Mcpake’s second signing, penning a long-term deal.
Hamilton spent last season on loan with high-flying Arbroath in the Championship, playing an integral role in the defensive midfield position and featuring 37 times.
He subsequently returned to Hearts at the end of the season before ending his 12-year association with the Tynecastle side.
The highly-regarded midfielder was sought after by a number of clubs but has pledged his future to his hometown team.
Speaking to the club’s website, Hamilton said his earliest memories are associated with the Pars.
“I’m delighted to join Dunfermline,” he said
“My earliest footballing memories actually started with the Pars, training with the Pars Foundation as part of their pre-school Mini Kickers programme.
“It almost feels like a full-circle coming back to the club I supported as a child. To say I’m buzzing is an understatement.”
● Kelty Hearts have confirmed the appointment of John Potter as manager.
The former Dunfermline boss takes over from Kevin Thomson who resigned from his post last week.
The former Hibs and Rangers midfielder left his position at Central Park in search of a full-time coaching role.
Potter joins the Fife side after recently helping guide Queens Park to the Championship via the play-offs.
● Jeanfield Swifts defender Jake Dolzanski has made the step up to the SPFL after signing for Elgin City.
The 24-year-old departs the East of Scotland League side after three years at the Riverside Stadium and heads norths to link up with former Swifts boss Gavin Price at Borough Briggs.
Dolzanski becomes Price’s latest defensive capture after the former Brechin, Forfar and St Johnstone forward signed Jevan Anderson from Cove Rangers.
Aberfeldy-based Dolzanski joined Swifts from Luncarty in 2019 after turning out for Breadalbane and St Johns amateur sides.
