Business boosts Kinross charity

-

A charity which offers emergency food supplies to individuals and families in the Kinross-shire and Glenfarg area has received a cash boost from a construction company.

Persimmon Homes North Scotland has awarded Broke Not Broken £1,000 as part of the firm’s community champions project.

The charity’s secretary Anne McCormack said everyone involved with the group was extremely grateful for the support.

“Our volunteers work tirelessly to tackle poverty in Kinross-shire,” she said.

“We are continuing to expand to provide counselling services, support a drug and alcohol addiction group and an outreach project to connect more rural clients who find it difficult to travel.”

The Persimmon funding scheme has donated more than £72,000 to local groups and charities over the last three years.

Managing director for Persimmon Homes North Scotland, Iain Innes, said: “We are very pleased to hand over our first donation to such a worthy cause.

“This charity plays a vital role within the community and it is easy to see how people really benefit from the work they do.”

Broke Not Broken is based at the Beacon, beside St Paul’s Church at the Muirs, Kinross.

Supporters can drop off food there, the Sainsbury’s supermarket in Kinross, or the Glenfarg Village Shop.
