AjmAny FAILED to make the anticipate­d progress last term but he is worth another shot in the Happy 10th Birthday Racing UK Zetland Gold Cup at Redcar.

Luca Cumani’s charge looked set for a fruitful period after winning at Nottingham last July following a couple of decent efforts at Ascot and Doncaster.

DOUBLE: AJMANY and TOP DOLLAR handicappe­r relented a fair bit before his reappearan­ce at Newmarket last month, dropping Ajmany back to a mark of 89.

He duly ran a cracker on his seasonal return, going down by just a neck in what appeared to be a warm heat to a decent type in Niceofyout­otellme.

Ajmany showed plenty of promise in that performanc­e and while the handicappe­r has taken a dim view in jacking him back up by 6lb, the four-year-old may be more capable of defying that increased rating with the benefit of another winter under his belt.
