Fifers boost ranks with swoop for French striker

-

EA ST FIFE have brought in French forward Bruce Inkango to help their battle against relegation from League One.

The 29-year-old started his career at Cannes and has also played in England for Gillingham as well as plying his trade in Switzerland, A lbania, Romania and Bulgaria with the Bayview side picking him up following his release from Turkish side Denizlispor.

The striker made a brief appearance as a substitute in the 2-1 win over Dunfermline at the weekend.

Boss Gary Naysmith said: “We had some money left in the budget so we have taken a punt on Bruce.

“We needed something different and Bruce came in and played well in training.”

“He is a busy player and will add something to our squad.”

Forfar’s new loan signing from Partick Thistle, striker Chris Duggan, is in line for plenty of game time at Station Park after Loons’ captain Gavin Swankie was ruled out for at least a fortnight due to a calf problem.

Duggan has joined on an emergency temporary transfer until the end of the season and the 20-year-old made a brief appearance as a substitute as the Loons went down 5-1 to A irdrie on Saturday.

Manager Dick Campbell said: “It is disappointing to be without Gavin at this stage of the season, but it has opened the door for Chris to be involved. I am sure he will welcome the opportunity.”

A rbroath full-back Jonny Lindsay could be set for a loan switch to League Two side StirlingA lbion.

The former St Johnstone, Partick Thistle, Brechin City and Stalybridge Celtic 21-year-old has played seven times for the Red Lichties but has not started a game since December.

Montrose remain hopeful that on-loan Inverness CaledonianThistle striker Calum Ferguson, 19, will make an impact at Links Park despite an injury-hit spell.

Gable Endies boss Stuart Garden is hoping that he will be back in action this weekend.

Garden said: “It has been frustrating but it would be great if Calum could make a big impact in our run-in.”
