AT PERTH: A Perth man will stand trial next year accused of sending indecent messages to a 14-year-old boy.

David McAlpine (27), of Ritchie Place, is alleged to have committed the offence between October and November this year.

Trial was f ixed for March 6 and McAlpine, who denies the charge, was granted bail.

A Crieff man was found guilty of shouting and swearing at a teenager and his mother in the town’s High Street.

Mohammed Aleem (44), of Beattie Gardens, stood trial yesterday.

The court heard that he shouted insults in Punjabi on July 3 this year.

Aleem’s solicitor argued that the complainers fabricated the allegation because their family had a long running feud with the accused.

Finding Aleem guilty, Sheriff Kevin Veal said: “I have to say the evidence of the boy and his mother was credible and reliable.

“That said, I recognise there is a long history in this matter.”

Sentence was deferred until October 30 next year for good behaviour.

A Pitlochr y man will stand trial next year accused of leaving someone a racially abusive voice message.

David Preston ( 19), of Watson Court, denied committing the offence on November 4 and trial was fixed for March 5.
